District 7 Recognized for AYP Accomplishment
The Detroit News reported that Dearborn Heights School District #7 is one of only 11 districts in the tri-county area that has achieved 100% AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) for the past 3 years. See story for more details

CALL TO ACTION! State Budget Cuts Would Bring Drastic Changes to D7
Until now D7 has been able to make significant budget cuts in areas other than our classrooms. The current budget proposed by the Governor would mean higher class sizes and the elimination of many programs. Please read this letter from D7's superintendent about what these cuts would mean for D7.

School of Choice!
Dearborn Heights School District 7 will be accepting applications for Limited Schools of Choice students for Wayne County residents in grades 1-5 only for the second semester of the 2011-12 school year. Applications will be accepted from January 9-25, 2012, Monday through Friday from 8:00am-3:00pm(no exceptions) at the Board of Education Office, 20629 Annapolis Dearborn Heights. Please read this for more information.

Dearborn Heights Virtual Academy
DHVA is a new high school with courses delivered to students completely online! Students are able to work from home and at their own pace. Courses are aligned with the Michigan Standards, will have the same rigor and challenge as traditionally delivered high school courses and will lead to a high school diploma. Open Swim Fridays
Leave the cold outside and enjoy a splash of summer! Our next friday swim is February 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at Annapolis High School. The cost is $3 dollars per person/ $6 dollars per family for D7 resident,. and $4 per person/ $8 per family for non-residents. Children 11 and under require supervision on the premises( at least 16 years of age) Children 6 and under require supervision in the water with them (at least 16 yeas of age). Future dates include March 9 and June8.

.Registration for District Residents
Registration for D7 residents is available Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at Board Office 20629 Annapolis, Dearborn Heights, MI 48125. Required documentation and registration forms for D7 residents.

Online Payment for Student Food Service Accounts and Other School Related Expenses
In an effort to make things easier for families, D7 is pleased to announce online payments for student meal accounts. Parents can log in and use a credit card to post funds to their child's food services account as well as pay for activity fees, sports fees and other expenses. Students can type in their ID in the cafeteria line and the cost of their meal will be deducted from their account. See our web page for more information.
