Important Announcement! New D7 Superintendent of Schools

Dearborn Heights School District 7 accepted Dr. Tyrone Weeks’ resignation at the Board Meeting on January 24, 2024.
 
Immediately following Dr. Week’s resignation, the D7 Board of Education unanimously voted for Mark Kleinhans to assume the position of Superintendent of D7 Schools, pending contract negotiations. As a Michigan native, Mr. Kleinhans comes to D7 with 30 plus years of experience, as a Teacher/Coach, Building Administrator and Policy Consultant, as well as 15 of those as a Superintendent in various Michigan public school districts. Throughout his tenure, he has held positions as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal before he assumed the role of superintendent and expert in school district policy. As an educational leader, he is renowned for focusing on students’ academic achievement and school safety. He also has a reputation of creating strong working relationships with staff and community members. Fair, honest, and approachable are characteristics that his colleagues mention about him time and time again.
 
Mr. Kleinhans and his wife Marcene reside in the Downriver area. When he is not working, he enjoys time with his family and his dog. Golfing, outdoor activities, and traveling are also high on his list of things he loves to do.
